WCO European Region Customs Heads conference was held in Bergen, Norway, on May 18-19 2009 with the participation of 96 delegates representing 44 countries. Azerbaijan was represented with the delegation headed by State Customs Committee Chairman Mr. Aydin Aliyev. Delegation included State Customs Committee Foreign Affairs Department chief Mr. Dilavar Farzaliev and Statistics and Information Technologies Head Department chief Mr. Igbal Babayev.***
On May 12 the Chairman of the State Customs Committee, customs service Lieutenant-General Aydin Aliyev received newly appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Saudi Arabia Kingdom to our country Fahd bin Ali al-Dusari***
On April 30 the Chairman of the State Customs Committee, customs service Lieutenant-General Aydin Aliyev received the Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Greece to our republic Ionannis Metaxas.***
On April 29 the Chairman of the State Customs Committee, customs service Lieutenant-General Aydin Aliyev received the General Director of the Tax and Customs Board of the Republic of Estonia Enriko Aavi and the Deputy director Dmitriy Yegorov.***

On April 22 the meeting of the Working Group between Azerbaijan-Turkey Customs Services was held.The Chairman of the State Customs Committee, customs service Lieutenant-General Aydin Alyev received the delegation headed by the Prime Ministry Undersecretariat of Customs Deputy Undersecretary of the Republic of Turkey Arslan Gunler.
After discussion of being accepted the final document the working protocol directed to detection, liquidation and prevention of illegal drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors trafficking through Azerbaijan-Turkey border was signed between the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Customs of the Republic of Turkey. The Protocol was signed by the Vice-chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, customs service Lieutenant-General Asgar Abdullayev and Prime Ministry Undersecretariat of Customs Undersecretary of the Republic of Turkey Arslan Gunler.

The advertisment about this reliable measure was printed in «Ventiquattro minuti» newspaper one of the leading media of Rome city having 250 thousand circulations.***

On March 24-25 the symposium on «Building Regional Capacity For Paperless Trade» was held by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asian and the Pacific Ocean (ESCAPUNECE) with the activity of Thailand Kingdom in Bangkok city. The first Deputy chief of the Finance-Tariff and Monetary Control Head Office of the State Customs Committee Igbal Babayev took part in the measure.***
On March 10-20 the 52 nd session on Narcotics of the Commission (NC) was held in the capital Vienna city of Austria. The Chief of the Struggle Department against illegal drugs trafficking of the Struggle Head Office Against Legal Violations in the Customs Sphere of the State Customs Committee Haji Hajiyev also took part together with the delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the measure***

On February 23-27 the 28 the session of the Struggle Committee against Violation of the WCO Legislation was held in Brussels city of the Belgian Kingdom. The delegation of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan-the Vice-chief of the Struggle Head Office Against Legal Violation in the Customs Sphere Ramil Asadov, the Chief of the Foreign Relations Office Cooperation with International Organizations and Protocol Department Kamran Jabbarli took part in the measure. ***

On February 17-19 the seminar on «Joint Customs Control» and on February 20-21 the seminar on «Valuation of Training Necessity» were held in Guangzhou city of People’s Republic of China. The delegation headed by the Vice-Chairman of the State Customs Committee, customs service Lieutenant-General Asgar Abdullayev took part in the the both seminars organized in frame of the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation Programme by the financial support of People’s Republic of China Head Customs Office and the Asian Development Bank.

On February 15 of this year in the frame of the European Economic Commission of the United Nations Organization the 47 the session of the Transport International Routier (TIR) Administrative Committee was held in Geneva. Corresponding to the 2 nd point of article 9 of the 1975 TIR Convention the 8 th Addition for the provision of the control on the Convention fulfillment 58 member states to the Convention elected 9 permanent members to the TIR Executive Council by voling.
Put forward a candidate by the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan -the Chief of the Customs Control Organizational Head Office Shahin Bagirov was elected the member to the Executive Council for the next two years period.
