On January 28 the inspection of the SCC Operational Centre was held in the presentation ceremony in the State Customs Committee and the resident-coordinator of the UN in Azerbaijan Fikrat Akchura took part in the ceremony.
The Chief of the SCC Statistics and Information Technologies Head Office Igbal Babayev said that the purpose of the Operational Centre for the project of UN Development Programme «Improvement of Azerbaijan Customs Service» is to observe implemented customs procedures in the customs checkpoints of the country, in the internal customs organs, in the airport and railway from the unit centre. These video images are directly transmitted to the Operational Centre by placed till 500 cameras and they are watched there by 20 monitors.
Besides this, during a customs clearance noted information about natural people and legal enteties in local customs authorities and technical indices of means of transport also enter in the on-line form the Operational Centre. All these create opportunity to increase a customs control on passengers, cargo transportation, to implement this control in a quick and organizational form in entrance and exit points.
I.Babayev also informed that side by side with entered video images, it is possible to watch movement directions to a considered address of cargo-means of transport in an electronic indicator board as well. To get information about passengers flying by air-line, number of cargo-customs declarations being cleared during a day is possible.
Then the Chairman of the State Customs Committee, customs service Lieutenant-General Aydin Aliyev emphasized that natural people and legal entities implementing import-export operations must be more responsible and understand that customs control is implemented in a more comprehensive and transparent form and evasion from control efforts will be immediately prevented. At the same time the Committee Chairman expressed his gratitude to the UN Development Programme for creation this kind of opportunity to Azerbaijan Customs Service and rendered aid to the improvement of the customs activity.
In his turn the resident-coordinator of the UN in Azerbaijan Fikrat Akchura expressing his satisfaction with the creation of the Operation Centre highly valued its supperior opportunities. The guest said that he was pleased with the cooperation of the State Customs Committee. He told that useful results in this sphere would be achieved. He expressed his assurance that this cooperation would be continued in future as well.
