Confiscated religious books were presented to State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations
On January 28 the ceremony presentation of the confiscated religious books to the State Committee for Work with Reloigious Organizations was held by Azerbaijan customs authorities.
In the measure the Chief of the department of the State Customs Committee “Azerterminalcomplex” Self-financing Foreign Economic Association Khosrov Vahabzada noted that the presented books were stopped in different times trying to transport without a customs control by Khachmaz, Astara and Novuz customs offices and handed to “Azerterminalcomplex” SFFEA. 6507 number books being in 93 names mainly belonged to the Islamic religion were published at the beginning of the 2000s in Turkey and Iran. According to the opinion of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, spreading of the above mentioned books in the country territory was considered expedient and giving them as a present to the same Committee was decided.
The head of the department of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Jeyhun Mammadov expressed his gratitude to customs officials for presented religious books. He stressed that these publications were very valuable present for Committee. The head of the department noted that one part of the presented books would be kept in the library of the Committee, another part of those books would be presented to the local departments of the of the Committee and related religions organizations as well.
